Inclusion in Design, crafting bot conversations, interface animations and more UX this weekWhat's hot in UX this week:
How to infuse diversity and inclusion in design teams →As designers, we spend most of our day imagining and building experiences that, when added up, take a big portion of people's days and affect a lot the relationships they have with other people and with the world around them. We design sign up forms for government websites that ask people to define their ethnicity. We design profile pages in social networking apps where people define how they want to be seen in the world. We also design online forums, medical forms, services for citizens, social interactions, dating apps, learning platforms — the list is huge. Aren't we somehow responsible for more inclusive, diverse experiences? UX binge-watch: accessibility, diversity and inclusion → Talks to watch (or just listen) about the exciting challenges of designing for inclusion. Chatbox UX: crafting a valuable conversation → A good chatbot helps users accomplish something more efficiently. A great one makes it enjoyable. Instagram accounts for design, fashion and art inspiration → Here are my go-to Instagram accounts when it comes to design inspiration. A few thoughts I have found can lead to happier, more productive relationships between designers and developers. Heuristic analysis in the design process → Three usability inspection methods and when and how use each one. How to create a UX writing portfolio → If you've been doing UX writing for a few years, there are a few ways you can build a portfolio that stands out. How to choose your first design gig: startup, corporate, or freelance? → Coming from university or a UX career transition, you've spent time to perfect your portfolio and resume — what now? Connecting with users: incorporating humor in web design → Humor is an important aspect of life. Researchers find humor has many positive benefits. Same thing in Design. A beginner's guide to designing interface animations → Animation is an exciting part of web design — learn how to make attention-grabbing motion online. News & Ideas

A year ago…The UX of Hiring for UX Positions → One of the reasons it's unrealistic to think that people can become UX designers in a short amount of time is because of how rapidly the field is changing. The constant introduction and adoption of new platforms, devices, audience habits, and more make it a challenge for experience designers to stay current. In the same way this change affects people who want to become UX designers, it also makes it more challenging for companies looking to hire UX designers, researchers, or strategists. Like the links?
